Comcast Upsets Asian Americans after Plans to Shut down AZN
If you hadn't heard already, Comcast is shutting down it's AZN Television channel in April of this year.
The Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA) expressed its disappointment at the decision.
According to...
...AAJA's executive director, AZN Television "AZN is to the Asian American community just like Univision is to the Latino and BET is to the African American communities, respectively."
Rene Astudillo went on to add that AAJA "partnered with AZN in many ways to ensure that more Asian Americans are given the opportunity to use their journalism and new media skills to enhance the delivery of news and information to the American public."
Reportedly, the channel was watched by about 14 million people. Comcast gave what some considered to be a lame excuse as to the cancellation of the channel saying it didn't meet expectations.
14 million! What exactly were their expectations? 100 million?!
