My Comments:
I enjoyed this series, although there were a few things I would change about it.

Kurou Daijuji (firstname lastname) is a detective of all trades who was to become a sorcerer, but for his own reasons, he didn't complete training school at Miskatonic University. While he was there, Kurou studied "mystic theory" as a part of a secret division of the University.
Anyway, Arkham city's rulers call on him to complete a job for them: find a grimoire. What they don't tell him at that time is that they want Kurou to fight against an evil organization called the Black Lodge using that grimoire AND using a big robot called "Demonbane".

You see, they can't operate the Demonbane robot without a grimoire. And they can't get a grimoire without a person/sorcerer who can combine with one. Get that? LOL!

Though Kurou is supposed to be searching for a grimoire, it's the grimoire which finds him when she literally falls out of the sky and lands on top of him!

Grimoires are in the form of girls. The one who finds Kurou -- by accident as she was trying to escape a bunch of guys chasing her -- is the "Necronomicon" (Al Azif).

His life changes drastically after that…and so does his body! She and he combine because she chooses him to be her master; combining their power. It's power Kurou is still unsure how to use to its fullest yet. When they combine, he too changes form.

During their battle with some wacked-out guy called Doctor West, Kurou and the grimoire instinctively call Demonbane to help. He is a nut who is part of the Black Lodge organization.

The Black Lodge organization is headed by Master Therion. At the beginning of the series, he's set up as the supreme bad guy. However he is absolutely and totally under-used in this series.

There could have been so much more of the storyline revolving around him, but much of the series is handled with fights between his henchmen and Kurou.

It was not the best series I've seen, but it was rather enjoyable.
