Asylum Session DVD out April 26

asylumsession
Asylum Session DVD (movie) is scheduled to be released on April 26 and will cost about $15.  The DVD runs about 65 minutes total and the anime itself has an interesting storyline.  The description certainly doesn’t read like the cover art for the DVD.

Information for yaoi mangas Escape and Do You Like Hot Springs have been added to the list.

Escape revolves around Shouta, who’s a video store clerk, and the salaryman he has a massive crush on.  But since Shouta can’t have him, he gets his… needs… fulfilled by someone else.  The only problem is that the guy who services Shouta has a “dark” side.

Koisuru Boukun OVA, Akai Koi links added

koisuruboukun540
Koisuru Boukun links OVA1 and 2 found.  In addition, links to yaoi manga Akai Koi have also been added.

Koisuru Boukun is a kinda funny anime/manga where one of the main characters appears to be totally homophobic.  Ha!  He should have been a teetotaler as well.  The one lesson a person can take from this anime is not to go snooping around your friend’s house for a bottle of booze. You never know.

Creator of YuGiOh sues 4Kids Ent for Fraud

yugioh01
The holder of the Japanese rights to YuGiOh — TV Tokyo Corp and Nihon Ad Systems — has nixed its deal with 4Kids Entertainment alleging the company struck secret deals to defraud the Japanese companies of anime profits. Oh snap!

Let me explain a bit further.  4Kids is the U.S. company who gets the rights to Japanese anime and dubs it so it can be aired on U.S. television.  For hits like YuGiOh, the Hollywood Reporter.com reports that 4Kids Ent made more than $152 million over 8 years which included merchandising related to the anime series.

So what happened?  TV Tokyo and Nihon Ad Sys filed a lawsuit saying that after they audited 4Kids’ accounting records, they learned that 4Kids cut deals with TV networks like Cartoon Network, and home video distributors like Funimation Productions… all while making “improper royalty deductions”.
